Suite à la crise sismo-vonlcanique de 2018-2021, le RGM04 est devenu obsolète. Le RGM23 n'est pas encore la référence légale, qui reste le RGM04 pour quelques temps, mais le RGM23 est le seul qui permette de réaliser actuellement un positionnement centimétrique à l’échelle de l’archipel.
